Asbestos Surveys

We work alongside an experienced asbestos survey company based in London. With over two decades of working with this deadly fibre; it’s ours and our partners mission to keep customers safe. Despite popular belief, detecting asbestos does not always spell danger (although some companies will tell you it does) sometimes it’s much safer to leave it be. Which reduces both the costs and potential fines.

There are many types of asbestos and we advise seeking expert advice when handling any. Abee Asbestos and our partners all operate with full insurance and qualifications under P405 management of asbestos. As well as working to strict guidelines of the Asbestos Control Abatement Divison (ACAD). Whom ensure all asbestos is handled with safety in mind and restoring buildings to a hazard free zone.

Asbestos Management Survey

This is a standard survey and the most popular with residential customers and businesses alike. Using powerful detection equipment, we assess the presence of any asbestos in the dwelling that could cause a hazard if damaged or disturbed.

Although this survey usually involves some disruption to the building. As a thorough investigation requires the occasional removal of plaster or boards. We use our experience to determine the most unobtrusive way to manage your asbestos.

After analysis and sampling we will provide you with a report that offers advice on the safe removal/protection and disposal of any asbestos that could be disturbed during normal occupancy. We will also advise of the management of remaining asbestos that will not come into contact with any person. Allowing you to make an informed decision according to the surveys.

Refurbishment And Demolition Survey

Before a property is demolished or refurbished the threat of asbestos must be eliminated. In order to maintain the safety of any people that work or live near the property. Our refurbishment and demolition survey will locate any asbestos and offer the safe removal. CAR 2006 (regulation 7) stipulate that all asbestos should be removed prior to a major refurbishment or demolition of a building. Therefore, we supply survey reports along with a removal service that adheres to these strict regulations. Ensuring your building becomes asbestos free quickly and efficiently.

We also offer:

  • Domestic Asbestos Surveys
  • Business Asbestos Surveys
  • Asbestos Reports
  • Air Testing
  • Removal and Safe Disposal of Asbestos

We don’t need to tell you the dangers of asbestos or point out the fines you can incur if the fibres are let loose into the air, yet we can tell you how to deal with it effectively and affordably. Contact us now for an asbestos survey whether you’re planning a demolition, renovating a home or simply suspect asbestos in your premises. We treat every case as urgent and will aim to visit you on site as quick as we possibly can.

The Regulations

Asbestos fibres are airborne, therefore if disturbed they can create a huge hazard to yourself and the public. If this happens, your business could be fined for millions of pounds.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2006 (Regulation 4) places a legal duty on anyone with responsibility for the maintenance and repair of non-domestic premises and common areas of rented domestic premises to:
  • Locate asbestos and establish its presence.
  • Act as if asbestos is there until an expert surveyor says otherwise.
  • Make a detailed record of all encounters, findings and condition.
  • Take action to remove or manage any risk.
  • Anyone using the building must be notified of the asbestos risk.
